When Jeanette reached out about a trash the dress session at Baker Beach in San Francisco, California, I was beside myself with excitement! Not only is Baker Beach a stunning location for a photo session, Jeanette is absolutely radiant in her wedding dress, so having the opportunity to photograph her in it was worth celebrating!
I’m going to start off this post by saying these two literally blew it out of the water. It was cold. It was windy. It was a summer day in San Francisco, which as Mark Twain says, was the coldest winter he ever spent. But Jeanette and Bryan rocked. this. SESSION!
Going into this session, I was a little worried about the weather. San Francisco isn’t known for having the warmest beaches, plus factor in our shooting time (around sunset), we would also be losing the warmth from the sun. We had plans for Jeanette and Bryan to go into the water… the average water temperature for the bay is around 50 degrees… so pair that with wind and little sun, and you’re not exactly getting ideal beach weather.
Jeanette’s dress also weighed a lot, as wedding dresses often do, so walking along the sand (especially after it’s wet) wouldn’t be the easiest thing to do.
But these two ran with our vision for this session, and the result is some of my favorite photos ever!
Thank you Jeanette and Bryan for trusting me to capture such a special session, and for being absolute champs! This trash the dress session at Baker Beach will forever be one of my favorites!
